Visual Identity & Signage

Stuntdolly

As a designer, when an old school friend moves to London to set up a hair salon, it’s almost like winning the lottery. Stunt Dolly was conceived many years ago by Dean and David while living in Adelaide and when they moved to the UK they felt it was time to fulfil their dream.

The brief was simple: the name is ‘stunt dolly’ and the sign needs to be in red neon.

The new salon was located stones throw from Fleet Street, the home of Sweeney Todd the demon barber, which gave us our inspiration for developing the identity around a skull and scissor motif that had both a live and a dead state. Perfect for animating in red neon.

The identity was supported by a series of old macabre images and a diagonal cross structure that made for a dramatic and sharp visual identity.
